Two weeks since my last post. Not the worst I have done, but still not my ideal time allowance. At any rate, I made it to Logan safe and sound. I had some snowfall in Wyoming, but after going down a big hill, I lost enough elevation to turn it into rain. It took me about 2 and a half days to make the trip. My first day I drove about 9 hours to Pueblo, CO where I stayed at a hotel. The next day I drove about 7 hours to Green River, WY where I stayed with my Grandparents. I would have driven more the first day, but I didn't want to be waiting for 6-7 hours for my Grandparents to get back from Salt Lake. Finally, On the 3rd day, I drove about 3 hours to arrive in Logan around Noon. I spent about $370 on gas for the trip which is better than I had thought considering I had planned on gas being about $4.00/gallon and had an average price of about $2.13/gallon.
So here is where the adventure begins. I went and got my key for the apartment I had signed up for. When I got there, I found 6 bedrooms instead of 3. The rooms were WAYYYY smaller than I had thought. Also, none of my roommates were LDS. I had to find another apartment and fast. Lucky for me, my brother lives in town. I went to his house and looked up somethings online. I was able to find an LDS guy selling his contract because he is getting married. I looked at the house and met some of the other guys and decided to take it. Everything is good here in the house, but I still need to sell my contract at the other place. Luckily, the owner said I could break the contract if any of the 7 apartment openings sells. So now all I have to do is advertise those openings and hope something gets taken. Between the whole apartment scare, I was able to stay with Bryan and Noralee Thursday and Friday night while I waited for the guy I bought the contract from to move his stuff in with another guy moving out to get married as well. I also need to find a job, which isn't going too well either, but I have some new tactics I'm going to try that will hopefully get me some bites.
Anyway, I do have some pictures I took along the way, but it's getting late. I need to get up early and turn in some more applications I finished tonight. Hopefully I can get those pictures for you in the next post.
